Federfarma writes: Night and holiday call charges increase after 25 years (video)

Pharmacists' arguments following our complaint about the increased "knock-on-the-door" tax for those on duty. And a warning to consumers: the tax is only payable for the purchase of medicines.

NIGHT TAX PHARMACY

FEDERFARMA ON NIGHT TAX FOR PHARMACY

The president of Federfarma Naples, Michael Iorio, wrote a letter to the Director, Antonio Galdo, regarding the increase in night and holiday rates for pharmacies.

THE EDITORIAL: Pharmacies are facing a sting for those who buy medication in the evening. A €10 tax is a gift to the pill lobby.

I would like to emphasize that the professional fee has been adjusted after nearly 25 years and, above all, that this nighttime or holiday fee is due exclusively to pharmacies on scheduled shifts, which therefore effectively provide a public service, but not to those that voluntarily choose, and not by order, to remain open.

I underline that the right of call night and/or holiday, otherwise paid to all healthcare workers who practice their profession at night or on holidays, both applicable exclusively to the sale of medicinal products the latter, if prescribed on an emergency NHS prescription, place the cost of the service on the Regions.

NIGHT TAX PHARMACY

Having said this, I agree with you, in relation to previous articles published on www.nonsprecare.it, that there are very serious waste and errors in the management of public health, which lead to economic burdens for citizens far more severe than the costs of compulsory night service could possibly account for.

As proof of this, I am sending you a short video produced by Federfarma which is perfectly in line with the Non sprecare website.

ANTONIO GALDO'S RESPONSE

President Iorio's arguments, as those of his entire profession, are clear, even if I'm not personally convinced. First of all, the president clearly emphasizes that the right to call during the night and/or holidays applies only to the sale of medicines. We hope that his colleagues will keep this limitation in mind. And thanks for the video we make available to our readers.
