Some time ago we told you history Rachelle, her husband Richard, and their daughter Verona, a family from Gloucester, England, are world champions in recycling: in a year, they managed to produce just one bag of garbage. How did they achieve this? By recycling everything and adopting sustainable behaviors every day. Simple actions that we can all put into practice: for example, eliminating plastic shopping bags and using only fabric shopping bag, or only buy loose foods.
A Simple Family Marianna Mea
Today, however, we're staying in Italy to introduce you to another family, that of Marianna Mea, a marine biologist originally from Rome who moved to Pozzuoli, where she lives with her husband and their two children. A zero-waste family, as Marianna describes on her blog:A simple family”, who decided to completely change his lifestyle to produce as little waste as possible. And so, step by step, they arrived at producing less than two kilos of waste in a month: the national average is around 500 kilograms per person in a year.
Marianna and her family do not use plastic bottles, they only buy loose food and organic waste ends up in the composter and are transformed into fertilizer for the garden plants.
TO KNOW MORE: Zero waste, we can do it. In the meantime, let's start reducing it, all of it.
