Acqua Panna: it costs three times as much at the airport

Nearly €2,50 a bottle. They cleverly sold slightly larger-than-normal packages.

Cream water

Question: Can a simple bottle of mineral water, the kind that normally costs 50 cents, cost almost 2,50 euros just because you buy it at an airport? Answer: No, and yet it happens. As in the case of bottles of Acqua PannaA figure that, among other things, completely ignores the recommendation of the Airports Council International (ACI), the global association of airports, which has long recommended selling bottled water inside airports for no more than 1 euro, which is already double what they cost in any supermarket.

EXCESSIVE COST OF WATER AT THE AIRPORT

We know that everything you buy at airports, especially in bars and restaurants, is subject to a sort of hidden tax. A waste for the consumer. The tax is the tax on purchasing out of necessity. You're at the airport, you're thirsty, you have a long wait for your flight, and so you're forced to buy your bottle of water.waterLike a sandwich, a coffee, or any product that costs much more in an airport than outside.

But in this case, any limit has been exceeded. Even with a trick (another waste): forcing the consumer to buy a small bottle of mineral water with a higher-than-usual content, 75 cl. Perhaps, in this bloodbath, Acqua Panna's marketing and sales champions also factored in the sweet marketing message on the packaging. It reads: "In every sip of this water, you will find balance." That may be true, but it's a balance that comes at a high price.

COST OF BOTTLED WATER IN THE CITY

To give an idea of the scale of bottled water speculation at airports, just remember that the city where this product costs the most, based on average prices, is Oslo, Norway, at €1,52. Still, this is much less than the cost of Panna water at the airport, not to mention that Oslo is one of the most expensive cities in the world.
