Cultivation
It is a classic garden plant that requires light and can reach a variable size, from 10 to 90 centimeters. It is ideal for use in borders, even walkways, and in fact, erigeron is increasingly chosen to add color and imagination to gardens. Mediterranean gardens, where it also serves as a natural weed barrier. Among the most widespread species in Italy is the erigeronckarvinskianus, also called “false chamomile", an evergreen perennial that spreads quickly and easily. When in bloom, this species of erythemum forms a veritable carpet of golden yellow flowers, surrounded by white or pink petals.
Exposure and climate
It thrives in the cool, temperate climate typical of mountainous areas and enjoys very sunny locations. It's a very hardy plant, able to withstand summer heat, down to 4°C (39°F); in winter, it has no problems even when temperatures drop to minus 10°C (-14°F).
Land and cultivation care
