Eni Plenitude: Consumers forced to renew contracts under new conditions

The Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) has opened an investigation. Customers are held captive by supplies and prices.

Eni Fullness It is an offer for the supply of electricity and gas by the leading Italian energy group, in the name of sustainability and the slogan “Our rates speak for themselves”But this is not the case for thousands of consumers, and above all for the Italian Competition and Market Authority (AGCM), which has launched an investigation into Eni Plenitude for a commercial practice deemed unfair.

What's the catch, which, as usual, calls into question the company's transparency and the violated rights of consumers? It all started with a deluge of customer complaints, actually already between May and September 2024 (and so a year has passed...), who found themselves with automatic renewals of their contracts, without being able to complain, and under obviously more disadvantageous conditions. In effect, they were unable to exercise their legitimate right of withdrawal and became prisoners of Eni, forced to accept its "green" supplies, without receiving adequate information and without any choice. From here, albeit belatedly, the investigation by the Special Antitrust Unit of the Guardia di Finanza began, and the investigation by the Regulatory Authority has begun.
