An old newsstand, abandoned and closed for years, San Severo, in the province of Foggia, reopens and is being given a new lease of life by transforming into a mini-theater. This ingenious and courageous solution is the work of the Teatro Foyer 97 theater company, led by director and artistic director Francesco Gravino. The newsstand on Via Tondi has thus been transformed into an intimate and fully equipped performing space, where, throughout the morning, performances are scheduled every 15 minutes, with seating for six spectators.

From Goldoni to Chekhov, via Ibsen, Comencini, Euripides, Winterson, Benni, Valerik, and Gaber, many works by great names will take turns performing on the tiny stage. "It took us about two weeks to renovate it and welcome our audience," says Gravino. And the idea is based on avoiding two wastes: to revive a newsstand that is dying and leaving a void, even urban, in the country, and to give space to the theatre that needs to bring young people closer to prose performances
