ECHO – ORCHESTRA –
The theatre of this initiative is Taranto, a tormented city, squeezed between the defense of an industrial plant strategic for the entire region and the need to fight thepollution which, over the years, has done a lot of damage. A place that longs for a rebirth which this time has taken shape in a project that fuses music and ecologyA mix born inside a school in the most polluted area of the city, the Tamburi neighborhood, where the students learned to "play" cans of jam, brooms and other recycled objects, transforming them into percussion instruments and giving life to a real “eco-orchestra".

WITH DRUMS BEATING –
The initiative is called "With Beating Drums” and was funded by the “Fondazione con il Sud” as part of the “Environment is Development” call. The aim is to contribute to transforming the Tamburi neighbourhood with “ecological music” but also through new job opportunities for the most vulnerable and artistic and cultural practicesTo achieve this they relied on the wise guidance of the great Capone & Bungt Bangt, an explorer without borders, a musician capable of experimenting in the world of music using “reinvented” tools. Drums, percussions and electric guitars, in fact, are made from waste materials, such as brooms, jam jars and other such objects. A genius in the name of non-waste from which the children of Taranto will be able to draw with both hands.

TARANTO INITIATIVES –
The project, which involves students of theVico – De Carolis Comprehensive Institute, succeeds in the enterprise of conveying, through music, theenvironmental education and respect for one's own territoryThe eco-orchestra, however, isn't the only initiative underway. Thanks to the "A Tamburi Battenti" project, the nearby parish of San Francesco De Geronimo, after its restoration, will become a cultural-theatrical space available to local associations and organizations that share a vision of social inclusion and increased job opportunities. And not just those related to the theater sector.
