DUTCH SOLAR CYCLE: THE BICYCLE WITH SOLAR PANELS –

An electric bicycle that can recharge itself thanks to the solar panels integrated into the wheels: it's called Dutch Solar Cycle and was developed in the Netherlands by the Solar Application Laboratory.

An eco-friendly vehicle where solar panels do not compromise the bicycle's design at all and are able to function perfectly even in adverse weather conditions.

HOW THE DUTCH SOLAR CYCLE WORKS –

In particular, i Photovoltaic panels allow you to convert light into electrical energy and thus completely recharge the battery in a period of time ranging from 4 to 6 hours, based on different weather conditions. And if the battery runs out during the journey, to continue the journey you just need to get back to ride.

DUTCH SOLAR CYCLE: THE BIKE THAT WORKS WITH SOLAR ENERGY –

The prototype, created in collaboration with the Technical University of Eindhoven, still needs to be refined. It is currently still in the development phase and will be presented next June through a major challenge: the The Sun Trip 2015, the 100 percent solar cycling race in which Guus Faes, co-founder of Solar Application Lab, will take part, who, with his Dutch Solar Cycle, will travel 8000 km from Milan to Astana, Kazakhstan. A journey whose duration must not exceed 60 days and which will see the bike Powered solely by solar energy, under penalty of disqualification. The bike, however, will not hit the market for another 3-4 years.
