It is easy to prepare using only two natural ingredients: baking soda and Marseille soap.

If you like to keep your car, motorcycle, or scooter clean, there's no need to spend a lot of money on commercial products. You can make your own homemade detergent with this recipe, starting with just two natural ingredients: baking soda and Marseille soap.

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of Marseille soap
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • (optional) a few drops of essential oil (e.g. lemon) to perfume

Preparation:

Mix everything in a bucket until the ingredients are well dissolved.

Use:

  • Rinse the car with water first to remove coarse dirt
  • Wash with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth to avoid streaks

If the mats aren't particularly dirty and don't require washing with water, you can sprinkle them with baking soda, which acts as a deodorizer, and let the powder sit for about half an hour. After this time, remove the baking soda with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Alternatively, wash the mats using Marseille soap and a stiff-bristled brush.

Glass

Did you know that baking soda is also great for cleaning car windows? Simply dissolve it in water and pour it into a spray bottle. Finish by drying the windows with a microfiber cloth.

Dashboard

To clean the dashboard, simply use a microfiber cloth soaked in warm water: this will remove dust without causing damage.

To remove dust and dirt from car floors, use a vacuum cleaner.

Tires and rims

Use a solution of water and vinegar to clean tires and rims. To remove mud and stubborn dirt, combine enough water and baking soda to create a creamy paste and use a sponge.

Apply the toothpaste to a cloth and then clean the headlights, using a toothbrush to clean any crevices. After ten minutes, remove the paste with a damp cloth without using or wasting any more water.
