In practice it works like this:
1. Insert what you have at home
When you go grocery shopping or open the fridge, you can manually add items (e.g., “zucchini,” “eggs,” “yogurt”) or, in some versions, scan products or barcodes.
2. Keep track of deadlines
The app lets you record expiration dates, so you get reminders before food becomes unusable.
3. Recipe suggestions
Cucinalo offers recipes based on ingredients you already have, so you can cook without buying anything else and use up things that are about to expire sooner. The app currently has over 300 recipes, which have already been downloaded 30 times.
4. Reduction of waste
The goal is to get you to consume the most “at risk” foods first, preventing them from remaining forgotten in the fridge or pantry.
5. Smart organization
Some versions also include statistics on how much food you waste and tips for improving your grocery management.
The “Cucinalo” growth plan includes expanding from homes to public spaces: bistros, restaurants, hotels, and canteens.
