Let's get started with this cute and useful beach bag : cut a rectangle of beach mat, fold it in half, and sew the sides together, leaving an opening for access. Add a zipper or button closure , and voilà, ready to use.

A great idea is to make a raincoat out of it . Cut the mattress to the size of the wearer, leaving room for the sleeves. Sew the sides together to form a roomy jacket. Add a hood and Velcro closures on the front.

You can make a colorful picture with an old mattress you don't want to throw away . Cut it into small pieces of different shapes and sizes.
