Method

  • Put on the faux fur vest, leggings, a matching T-shirt, and a belt. Then, move on to the shield and helmet. The first is made from cardboard decorated with tempera paint, while for the second, cut a 5 cm wide strip from cardboard, measure the circumference of your head, and secure with glue and tape.
  • Then take the balloon, inflate it, leaving the circumference smaller than the strip you just cut, and mark the height of the forehead. Cover the balloon with several strips of paper, dipped in a solution of PVA glue. Try not to go above the forehead line. Once the paper surface is completely dry, deflate the balloon and you'll have your Viking helmet ready to decorate as you like.
  • Now all you have to do is make the horns, using specially shaped kitchen paper towels and then covered with adhesive tape, which you will also use to secure the horns to the helmet.
  • Finally, place the paper ring you made at the beginning on the edge of your helmet and secure it with glue. Once everything is dry, you can move on to the final decoration, with buttons, studs, or whatever you have and that suits you: your Viking costume is ready, beautiful, and low-cost.
