- choose a costume that you feel comfortable in, without chasing what “should” enhance you;
- avoid constantly checking yourself in the mirror or comparing yourself to photos on social media;
- When you go to the beach, focus on what you want to do—swimming, being with friends, sunbathing—rather than on how you look;
- if someone comments about your body, you are not obligated to take them into consideration;
- remember that swelling, posture, light and perspective change the appearance of the body greatly, even within the same day.
And above all: there's no need to go on a drastic diet or "fix" before going to the beach. Peace of mind comes much more easily when you stop treating your swimsuit like a test to be passed.
However, solutions vary, and as we approach this time of year, we should ask ourselves whether we're maintaining minimum standards. These standards are vitally important not only for the upcoming event, but to be followed throughout the year. Indeed, our bodies require basic care, regardless of the swimsuit season. Activities to monitor include:
- Good daily hydration, about 2l per day;
- Daily physical activity, which among other things helps keep the body toned;
- Don't overdo it with high-calorie foods;
- Follow a moderate and varied diet, favoring natural and seasonal foods;
- Moderate your alcohol intake;
- To prefer fibers, fruit e foods with high water content.
Being able to follow these guidelines can lead to achieving excellent results more easily and without the risk of undertaking drastic and unhealthy diets.
