Rabbits raised and tortured in cages in Treviso

A massive breeding farm with over 30 animals. Everything is documented with images taken by the "Essere Animali" association.

The images are truly a gut punch: rabbits grabbed by the ears, slammed against the walls or the floor, trying to kill them. Crammed into cages, one on top of the other, unable to move. Something more than torture, presented as a normal breeding practice and discovered thanks to the work of volunteers from the "Essere animali" association. The photos were taken in a large rabbit farm where approximately 30,000 animals are tortured, their meat then sold directly to supermarket chains (but shouldn't they know where the rabbits they sell in the meat section come from?). It should be added that in Italy, 90 percent of the 12 million rabbits slaughtered each year are raised in cages. And how many suffer the same abuse seen in the images taken in Treviso? It's no coincidence that Veneto is the region with the highest percentage of cages used to raise rabbits.
