In Bassiano, a community composter transforms organic waste into fertilizer for the garden.

BASSIANO ORGANIC WASTE COMPOSTER –

As we have seen many times, organic waste can prove to be an important resource: it takes very little to transform it into an excellent fertilizzante natural for thegarden, significantly reducing the amount of waste in landfills. This is the project promoted by the Municipality of Bassiano, in the province of Latina, through the initiative "Bassiano ..is different".

THE “BASSIANO ..IT DIFFERENTIATES” PROJECT –

By installing a composter of community, all the municipality's organic waste is recovered and transformed into natural fertilizer.

The initiative brings several advantages and benefits, starting with the rapid "physical" reduction in the volume of waste sent to landfill, by around 70 percent. The project also includes an educational component with the provision of a themed board game for children and informative-educational calendars for adults..

APPLICATION AND POTENTIAL –

The project, considered innovative and functional in its scope of application, can be applied as a "best practice" in any municipality in Italy, as it is structured according to national regulations.
