Honey is very easy to store because it's a naturally antibacterial food. However, to keep it at its best, there are a few simple rules:
1. Keep it in a cool, dry place
- Ideal: between the 10°C and 20°C
- Avoid heat sources (stoves, radiators)
2. No refrigerator
- The cold accelerates the crystallization (becomes hard and grainy)
- It's not dangerous, but it changes the consistency
3. Close the glass jar tightly
- The ideal packaging for honey is a glass jar
- The closure must be complete because honey easily absorbs moisture and odors.
- Always use a well-sealed container (glass is better)
4. Keep it away from light
- Direct light can slowly alter its quality and aroma
