Making a carnival costume for children is very simple and fun and, with the right ideas, you can prepare a beautiful disguise with what you have at homeIn this case, all you need is a pair of hangers, tights, hot glue, and imagination to make a gorgeous mask for all the kids who want to transform into fairies.
First things first: what does a fairy look like? Through their favorite cartoon characters, our children learn to identify with their favorites, but all fairies have two things in common: wings and a magic wand.
Learning to create these two accessories, you just need to take a flowing dress, add a belt in which you glue a lot of tulle and, without a sewing machine, but with a little bit of fantasy, the dress is ready.
Necessary
- Tulle in your favorite color
- Fishnet stockings
- 2 hangers
- Hot glue
- Felt or felt scraps
- A chopstick (but a pencil will also work)
- Trimmings
- Glitter
- A ribbon
Method
- First, download an image of your child's favorite fairy. What's the predominant color? Some are green, others pink or light blue. Then, grab the tulle in that color and the fishnet stockings.
- Now turn on the hot glue gun, measure from the children's waist to their feet, and cut several strips of tulle of that length. You need a lot of them to create a magical, fairy-tale effect, full of puffs and fluttering.
- Glue the strips to the belt with hot glue, overlapping them.
- Finish the magic wand with glitter.
- Complete the wings with two hangers and the fishnet stockings: wrap the stockings tightly, on each wing with a knot at the central point.
- At this point your fairy costume is complete and ready for use.
