How to clean carpets without chemicals

No chemicals, just baking soda, white vinegar, and lemon. Add a few drops of essential oil. But there's also lettuce and beer.

How to clean carpets with natural products
Carpets require frequent cleaning: even if you can't see it, dust, sand, and microparticles brought in by shoes or the air constantly settle on their surfaces. These substances can damage the fibers and also create household pollution.

Baking soda and vinegar

For a very intense natural wash, the best formula involves a combination of baking soda, white vinegar, and warm water. Use these proportions and follow this method:

needed:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • 2 cups of warm water

Procedure:

  • Mix everything in a spray bottle.
  • Spray on the surface (without soaking).
  • Rub gently with a soft brush.
  • Let it dry thoroughly, then vacuum up the bicarbonate residue.

With bicarbonate you can add a few drops of essential oil (Eg. lavender essence , eucalyptus, or lemon) before sprinkling it on the carpet. It spreads a fresh, natural scent throughout the room.

Vinegar and lemon

This solution, just as natural as the previous one, is suitable for small stains and halos.

needed:

  • 1 part white vinegar
  • 1 part warm water
  • A few drops of juice Lemon; (optional)
  • Microfiber cloth or sponge

Procedure:

  • Dab the stain with the cloth soaked in the solution (do not rub).
  • Leave to act for 5–10 minutes.
  • Dab with a clean cloth dampened only with water.
  • Let it dry well, preferably in the sun or near a window.

Lettuce

You won't believe it, but an ancient remedy for cleaning carpets starts with a head of lettuce.

Necessary material

Method

  • Get yourself a head of lettuce and cut it into thin strips.
  • Then spread it with a broom over the entire surface of the carpet.
  • Leave it on for a bit to dry, then vacuum it up; you'll see that the end result might surprise you.

Beer

A fresh stain on the carpet, especially if it is tea or wine, can be easily dabbed with beer.

Necessary material

  • 1 glass of light beer
  • 1/2 glass of white wine vinegar

Method

  • Dab the stain with some leftover lager.
  • Leave it to act for a few minutes and then rub with a cloth soaked in cold water and equal parts white wine vinegar and wrung out, or with a brush.
  • Let it air dry and your carpet will be as good as new.

How to dry clean carpet at home

Dry cleaning carpets at home is a great savingsMoney, time, and even labor, since these are bulky items to take to the cleaners. But how do you dry clean carpets at home?
  • The first thing to do is turn the carpet inside out and focus on the area most in contact with the floor. Here, simply vacuum to remove dust mites, crumbs, soil residue, and dust.
  • Then, once the carpet has been turned over again, we move on to the outside part. And this is where baking soda comes in handy, by brushing it over the entire surface of the carpet with a stiff-bristled brush.
  • Llet the natural product act for at least a quarter of an hourand then always remove it with the help of a vacuum cleaner.
  • For a deeper clean  You can mix two cups of white vinegar with three tablespoons of baking soda in a liter of water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray the outside of the carpet. Brush gently and let it dry, but avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the carpet.
