The first, which certainly concerns the routine cleaning of the terracotta floor, is simply a mixture of hot water and white vinegar. Then you increase the quality and intensity of the ingredients: baking soda, Aleppo soap, and Marseille soap.

Hot water and white vinegar
The simplest and most common solution is to mix hot water with a few drops of white vinegar (without exaggerating).
needed:
- Hot Water
- White vinegar (very little)
- Soft cloth or well-wrung microfiber mop
Procedure:
- Fill a bucket with hot water.
- Add half a glass of white vinegar every 5 liters of water.
- Wipe with a well-wrung cloth.
- Let it dry naturally.
Terracotta floor cleaner with Aleppo soap and baking soda
If you want to opt for a detergent, the most natural one for cleaning terracotta floors is the result of the combination of two products: sodium bicarbonate e Aleppo soap.
Necessary
- 4 tablespoons of baking soda
- a spoonful of Aleppo soap flakes
Method
- First, sweep or vacuum the floor thoroughly.
- In a bucket with the water very hot add the baking soda and the Aleppo soap.
- Soak and wring out a cloth, wipe the floor with it, paying particular attention to any stains, rinse with hot water, let it dry and the terracotta will be perfect.
Marseille soap
If the stain appears particularly resistant, you can use the Marseille soap, again with baking soda, and rub it directly onto the stained area of the floor. Use a small sponge soaked in water, and once you're done cleaning, rub a few drops of olive oil on the spot, which will help restore shine to the floor.

- 1 tablespoon of liquid or flaked Marseille soap
- Soft brush
Procedure:
- Dissolve the soap in hot water.
- Wash the floor with the brush.
- Rinse with clean water only.
- Dry with a cloth.
To revive dull terracotta
If the terracotta floor has lost its shine and tone, you can use:
- 1 liter of water
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
Then wipe with a soft cloth and rinse.
Finally, absolutely avoid washing terracotta floors with particularly aggressive products, such as highly acidic detergents, ammonia, and bleach.
