DIY Pins: 10 Ideas - Don't Waste

They are accessories that can completely change an outfit: have you ever thought of creating some? DIY pins with your own hands? You can wear them, give them as gifts to your family or friends, or make them into charity objects. And all this, setting in motion the creative recyclingIt couldn't be better! You can start with an old piece of clothing, perhaps with holes or tatters, that you certainly can't use anymore and can't even donate. Or a felted, worn-out sweater. Dress

Fabric, as we were saying, is a good starting point for making one. You can get inspired by the project by our reader Eva and her partner Barbara, an object designer, who also opened a workshop and shop. Baby's in black. If you have a dress unused or some scrap of fabric, leftover from sewing work:

cut from the same 6/8 circles of about 7 cm (or the size you prefer)
fray them slightly along the edges
fold the circles into four parts and sew them together, on the tip side
finally, glue with hot glue, or sew, a brooch base

Jumper

If, instead of a dress, you want to use an old felted sweater:

From the same, cut a circle of about 10 cm in diameter and give it the shape of a spiral
make cuts around the outer edge of the spiral and start rolling it in the center of it
Once the rolling is finished, use needle and thread to close the back of the flower on which you will glue a brooch base.

Alternatively, you can pull the wool threads that compose it and create some Cheerleaders to which you can attach a safety pin, taking inspiration from the image above.

If you have some leftover fabric, maybe from a old tentFrom an unused sheet or tablecloth, cut strips of varying lengths, about 1 cm wide, and sew them together. The resulting ribbon can then be wrapped around a plastic washer, like the ones found around washing machine faucets. Then, cut the edge to remove the washer and sew the two pieces together. In the center of the flower, you can add a decorative button, one from your sewing kit, or any other detail you like.

Then, take some scraps of light, transparent fabric and cut squares about 8 x 8 cm. Repeat the same process with all the other pieces of fabric until you obtain the shape of a flower.
