In Greece, there's a bar that welcomes stray dogs every night to protect them from the cold.

HOW TO HELP STRAY DOGS –

Initiatives to rescue stray animals and allow them to spend the night sheltered from the cold, especially when temperatures become particularly low, are on the rise. And while in Italy, specifically in Pistoia , the local ENPA branch, in agreement with the municipality, has decided to activate a night shelter for the dogs of the homeless, on the Greek island of Lesbos, a bar has decided to open its doors to stray dogs.

HOTT SPOTT MYTYLENE LESBONS GREECE –

This is the “Hott Spott” bar in Mytilene, a town of 36 inhabitants, where at night, as soon as the last customers leave, the owner lets stray dogs in.

As we can see in the image published on Facebook, the animals are sleeping peacefully on the sofas in the restaurant.

The crisis that has profoundly affected Greece has not spared pets: in recent years, cases of abandoned dogs of all breeds and ages have increased significantly . There are reportedly over a million stray dogs in Greece. Not to mention that environmental associations and kennels no longer receive any state funding.

This is a wonderful initiative that we hope will soon be replicated by many other organizations and venues. Unfortunately, every year, so many stray dogs die during the winter months due to the cold and the worsening of their illnesses caused by low temperatures . It takes very little to help animals in need.
