Who went to live in the houses confiscated from the Casamonica family?

They primarily house people with autism. And until March 2024, despite the confiscation, a villa was still occupied by the clan.

Majestic, luxurious, gaudy: these were the Casamonica villas along the Via Tuscolana, symbols of a power no one dared touch. Yet, after many years and many battles, including those waged by associations committed to legality, the villas were confiscated and used for social and institutional purposes.

  • A villa in Via Roccabernarda was assigned as a home to seminarians (effectively hosting 11 young people in religious formation).
  • Another villa – often called “The Casamonica Family” – has been transformed into a residence entrusted to the National Association of Autistic Subjects.
  • A third confiscated villa was demolished and in its place the “Parco della Legalità” was created in the Romanina neighborhood.

Indeed, until March 2024, one of the most important confiscated villas—with a swimming pool and riding stables in the Romanina neighborhood (Campo Romano)—was still occupied by members of the Casamonica family, specifically Guerrino Casamonica, son of Vittorio, known as "Pelè." Only then did the police finally clear the property, despite it already being under judicial seizure.
