In Corciano, toys, school supplies, and books are donated to those who deliver plastic waste.

The “Brodolini” Reuse Center is a small model of collective recycling that involves citizens and schools.

Il “Brodolini” Reuse Center in Corciano, a small municipality in the province of Perugia, has created a very original and useful initiative in the field of shared recycling: people can hand over plastic waste, such as old toys and school supplies, in exchange for other everyday items, including new toys or new school supplies.

In practice, a huge quantity of objects containing plastic, instead of ending up in landfills, are left at the "Brodolini" Reuse Center, where volunteers clean them, classify them, and make them available to those in need and ready to exchange them.

The same “Brodolini” Reuse Centre was at the centre of a project by the municipal administration called “Plastic that Becomes a Game”. The residents of Corciano are encouraged to collect plastic that would normally be thrown away, such as bottles, containers, and other plastic materials. The collected plastic is then separated and processed to be transformed into new objects, including special children's toys, such as slides, swings, and elements for the town's playground. The project also involves schools, local associations, and local businesses, which actively participate in the collection. This collaborative effort has two fundamental goals: to spread an anti-waste culture reduce the use of plastic and eliminate waste through recycling and reuse.
