Not just a simple kennel but a real one cottage for our four-legged friends, made entirely with recycled cardboard boxesA simple and original project to make them feel loved while also being environmentally friendly! Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to make it.
Necessary
- Sturdy cardboard
- Cutter
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Hot glue
- Cardstock for decorations
- Cushion or soft fabric (for the inside)
Method
- Cut the front wall of the house from a piece of cardboard.Draw an arch on the bottom and cut it out with the cutter: this will be the entrance.
- Cut out two cardboard rectangles of the same size: they will be the side walls. Draw and cut out one or more windows with the cutter to let the light in or simply to decorate.
- Glue the two side walls to the sides of the entrance wall using hot glue.
- Prepare a larger base on which to glue the three already assembled walls.
- Apply hot glue along the bottom edges of the walls and secure them firmly to the base.
- Cut out the back wall, leaving a large opening for animal passage or to facilitate internal cleaning. Glue this wall to the structure as well.
- Cut two cardboard rectangles to the size needed for the roof. Glue them at an angle to the walls. joining them along the center line with hot glue to form a sloping roof.
- Create a small enclosure Use strips of cardboard to line the kennel. Add a ladder or ramp if you plan on a second floor or a loft. If you've created a loft, place a soft cushion on it where your dog can rest comfortably.
- Finally decorate the house with white or colored cardboard.
