Un gazebo that resembles a jellyfish, very light and with an innovative design, or stools and chairs that weigh less than 800 grams. With a futuristic, modern and affordable design.
Carbon furniture
It's the revolution of the carbon fiber used by the designers and architects of the Venetian startup Carbonium, whose aim is precisely to bring the use of this material to a higher level, extremely light, very resistant, ignifugo and thread-like structure This makes it suitable for slim, easily assembled constructions: the idea was to borrow the use of carbon fiber from robotics and the automotive industry to design furnishings inspired by shellfish, wicker baskets, and globular architecture reminiscent of rose windows and Gothic windows. Woven like baskets or straw chairs.
If you are thinking of furnishing that small outdoor space of your house in the city, the lawn of your house in the countryside or the beautiful terrace of your house by the sea in an original, elegant way and without having to deal with the perishability of plastic or the weight of wooden furniture and its constant demand for expensive maintenance, carbon fiber is the material that might be right for you.
Carbonio Project
Gazebos inspired by sea urchins and jellyfish, in fact, are composed of modular segments that can be assembled like a puzzle, designed to create a sustainable and comfortable environment where you can relax and find an interactive dimension with nature. In addition to weighing very little, less than 200 kg for a structure 2.40 meters high and 5 meters in diameter, carbon fiber is particularly suitable for creating sustainable and easy-to-maintain environments: you save time and money on maintenance, as it is a salt-resistant material, resistant to sunlight and adverse weather conditions.
A truly innovative feature of the Karbonio project, as Carlo Cappellotto, designer and architect responsible for the project along with his colleague Matteo Illesi, explains, is the innovative manufacturing technology that blends carbon fiber with resin, making the composite incredibly lightweight and ultra-strong. The objects produced with this material are easily reproducible at a low cost. Extreme attention was also paid to the design process, to the beauty of the furnishings, designed to blend seamlessly into the natural environment, without being intrusive, with a sense of lightness.

But not only that: carbon fiber it's good for the planet, as its production saves approximately 20% of emissions carbon dioxide compared to the production of outdoor furniture in metal or plastic bags, and being practically non-deformable (hence its use in the aerospace sector) it gives life to chairs, stools, tables, mobile structures that have a very long life cycle, to counter the trend towards 'disposable' objects.
