Best practices at school: in Novara, food isn't wasted.

Have you ever seen the breakfasts of the kids who have leftovers? The amount of bread and fruit in schools it ends up in the trash or the entire canteen plates that nobody touches? In Novara, in some institutions of the city, such as the "Fratelli di Dio" school in via Cagliari 5, food is not wasted..

Everything that is not consumed, It is collected by a group of volunteers and then, twice a week, distributed to associations who provide assistance to the poor in the area.

The project is called “Siticibo”, is developed in collaboration with the Food Bank and is inspired by the idea of don't waste foodA program of best practices which, after being aimed at companies and restaurants, has also been extended to other institutions, such as the schools.

It goes from CREA project which in Genoa, thanks also to the collaboration of the Municipality, allows us to recover surplus food from the local markets and donate it to those who need it most, to online foodsharing platforms, Up to individual neighborhoods who independently planned the collection of food to be saved.
