Benedetta Morucci is the founder of the project Lamantera, which deals with the recovery of Abruzzo wool.

In practice, his job consists of collect raw wool from extensive farms in the Abruzzo Apennines, which would often be considered waste or refuse, and transform it into a useful resource.

His project:

  • recover the wool from local sheep (especially from transhumant farms)
  • he puts it in one completely Italian processing chain (washing, spinning, natural dyeing)
  • transforms it into yarns and textile products such as scarves, sweaters and accessories
  • It also works on an ethical and sustainable supply chain, collaborating with breeders and wool mills

The goal is not only to “recycle” the wool, but restore economic and industrial value to Abruzzo wool, which for years has been little used and often disposed of as waste.

Once the wool is recovered, Benedetta Morucci transforms it into sustainable textile products, rebuilding a local supply chain that connects farmers, artisans, and the textile industry. In 2025, Morucci joined the Organizing Committee of the Calascio Advanced Training School (ISTÓS), a center dedicated to weaving and sustainable fashion.
