Throughout Italy, authentic craftsmanship , tied to the history and vocation of the territory , is still alive and well, with a unique network of workshops, small stores, ateliers, and stores. Where any product is crafted, of the highest quality, thanks to the skill of unique professionals.

CRAFTSMANSHIP IN ITALY

To discover and promote Italy's finest artisans , and to ensure a wealth of knowledge and future employment is not lost or squandered , the Cologni Foundation for the Crafts and Professions has for years been using a variety of tools, from the most traditional to the most innovative. The first group, for example, includes a remarkable book entitled " L'Italia su misura " (Made in Italy), featuring photographs by Dario Garofano that recount and capture the work of the country's 100 top artisan workshops from within.

CUSTOM-MADE ITALY

This project features tailors, jewelers, carpenters, restorers, glass, silver, ceramic, and mosaic artists. A true journey from North to South and back again, exploring the excellence of Made in Italy , places where nothing is wasted and quality is the key to staying on the market and staying competitive. To best illustrate this richness, which we increasingly risk missing out on, Dario Garofalo took over 800 images to capture the faces and stories of homo faber. From this journey of images and stories, an editorial initiative was born, aiming to enhance and promote the art of savoir faire, the craft that gives life to those unique and personalized creations, symbols of the excellence and know-how that make Italy a leading center for fine craftsmanship.

ARTISANS IN ITALY

The second group of tools supporting quality craftsmanship includes the Wellmade (literally, well-made) platform, where you can discover the best artisans, learn about their work, and review their bespoke products and services. From discovery to sharing, and from evaluation to re-evaluation: Wellmade is a community of enthusiasts and experts who love all things beautiful and well-made, within a "rewarding and culturally advanced" social experience, as the promoters write on the platform's website. The goal of the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte , a private non-profit institution that founded Wellmade, is to foster a widespread culture of quality and bring together the diverse organizations that work daily to enhance and promote excellent craftsmanship.
