ANIMAL BENEFITS FOR AUTISTIC CHILDREN –

How many times have we come home after a long day and been made to smile by our dog or cat ? For several years now, the scientific community has recognized the contribution that animal -assisted therapies can make to the treatment of many illnesses . Iris Grace, for example, is a six-year-old autistic girl, but thanks to the help of Thula, her cat, she has begun to speak and interact with people.

IRIS GRACE HALMSHAW –

Before Thula's arrival, Iris Grace, from Market Harborough, England, was a reserved little girl, but as soon as she saw the cat, she immediately started talking to him. From that moment on, Iris Grace and Thula have been inseparable: the cat follows her everywhere, even while the little girl swims in the pool . As you can see in the video, Iris Grace and Thula enjoy swimming and playing together in the water.

And Iris Grace is also a well-known painter : the little girl is in fact very well-known internationally for her Monet-style paintings.

THE BOOK ABOUT IRIS GRACE –

The little girl's mother, Arabella, has decided to tell her daughter's story and her wonderful friendship with Thula in a book that also includes images of Iris Grace's paintings . The goal is to raise awareness about autism and demonstrate that Iris Grace's achievements can also be achieved by all other children with autism.
