BEACHES FOR THE DISABLED

Often, too often, the sea is forbidden to DisabledWe have a law that requires a series of equipment to be paid by the Settlements to facilitate access for the disabled, but almost no one respects it; and we have a technology that advances with very innovative products, such as a wheelchair (cost: 200-250 euros) capable of carrying the person through the sand to access the water. Fortunately, the number of establishments is increasing, even though Italy remains a very unwelcoming country for people with disabilities. BEACHES FOR THE DISABLED IN ITALY

Here is a list best beaches Italian (we have chosen one for each region) accessible to people with disabilities:

SICILY

  • A CataniaSan Marco Beach is clean and welcoming. You can also enjoy excellent Sicilian cuisine while surrounded by the pristine nature that surrounds the beach.
    Not only Catania, in Sicily there are many beaches for disabled people: Trapani, more precisely to San Vito Lo Capo, there is even a free beach for ddisabled, which is called No Limits. Two special chairs have also been provided to facilitate access to the water for those with particular difficulties. CALABRIA

  • A Matera, The "Lido La Stiva”, in Enotria square in Policoro, It is a beautiful, functional structure with a clean beach and excellent service from a staff that is always kind and helpful. Equipped with Job chairs, walkways and accessible restrooms.

CAMPANIA

  • A Pozzuoli, (Naples), the “Lido Capri Beach” (via Sibilla 20) is a very well-equipped and well-organized beach resort that also has an excellent restaurant.

LAZIO

  • A San Felice Circeo (Latin), the “Voglia di Mare Resort – Salvatore Holiday Center" has been listed among the 12 most innovative structures in Italy. The structure is accessible via a series of walkways connecting every point to all the umbrellas. Maximum independence and autonomy are guaranteed for all motor disabilities.

ABRUZZO

  • A Montesilvano (Pescara), the "Bagno Gente di Mare" (via Aldo Moro 107) is a beach resort that offers quality services and comfort for the whole family, with very clean sea. Also in Montesilvano, we've been told about the Serena Majestic: fully accessible to people with motor disabilities.
    There are no architectural barriers in the structure and the beach has umbrellas accessible by wheelchair and a special chair for entering the water

TUSCANY

  • A Massa Carrara, The "Morgana Bath"(Viale Amerigo Vespucci 58) is a beach resort full of activities, with excellent services and excellent organization. There are numerous volunteers available to assist people with disabilities and their companions, making their stay less stressful.

MARCHE

  • Ad Ancona, the free beach of Numana It offers chairs, walkways, and services for disabled people. Specially equipped and barrier-free. Located between beach establishments no. 14 "Cavalluccio di Mare" and no. 15 "Bellariva," it features reserved parking spaces, a slide and walkway for access to the beach right down to the shore, and Job chairs for entering and staying in the water.

EMILIA ROMAGNA

LIGURIA

SEATRAC 

Seatrac is a device that allows all disabled people, including those with general mobility difficulties, even temporary ones (think pregnant women), to access the sea unaided. How does Seatrac work? The device consists of a fixed rail mechanism with a movable chair that can be moved in and out of the water. It also features a computer that provides a live view of the beach and, for example, determines whether the weather is good. It also includes a Smart Computing Unit that allows for remote maintenance and reports any malfunctions.
