ANIMAL VIOLENCE IN SLAUGHTERHOUSES –
There is one form of violence, among many, that shows no sign of abating, but rather seems to have become a byproduct of the most extreme relativism: animal cruelty . We receive constant reports of abandoned dogs and cats on the streets, torture in slaughterhouses , and clandestine sales of animals forced to live in appalling conditions. Everything passes in silence, amid indifference, except for the usual, increasingly isolated, voice of a few generous associations that defend the most vulnerable, in this case, animals.

ANIMAL TORTURE IN SLAUGHTERHOUSES –
I was struck by the fact that in France , precisely under pressure from animal rights movements and associations, a very important point has been reached, namely the proposal of a law to install cameras in all 263 slaughterhouses where animals arrive before being slaughtered.

As you know, I'm always skeptical of the proliferation of regulations, laws, and decrees, especially when they involve issues that have to do with our lifestyles, our sensibilities as men and women , and the very idea of life. But certainly the images stolen from the slaughterhouses that led to this decision are truly horrifying : we see pigs, sheep, and cows being hung on hooks while still alive, or accompanied to their deaths by electric shocks, or decapitated for no reason. And so on.

VIOLENCE IN SLAUGHTERHOUSES –
Why so much violence against animals? I ask myself this as an Italian, a nation of "good people" with ancient peasant roots (farmers have always recognized the value of animals and therefore respect them), and the only answer I can give is this: we have lost the value, the dignity, the sensitivity, the humanity (yes, you read correctly: the humanity) of animals , and slowly we have begun to consider them superfluous appendages to our lives. Little more than any object that may or may not be in a home or on the table. This is also why the website Non sprecare does nothing but tell, explain, and document stories that emphasize the importance of the animals at our side . It is they, the animals , who prolong our lives, give us the companionship and joy of friendship, and brighten the sad days of children struck by deadly diseases. Stories that we will continue to multiply , hoping that violence against animals can be stopped, starting first and foremost from our hearts and not only by using the lever of the law.
