The managers of the "Al Chiosco" beach resort in Noli, in the province of Savona, Liguria, couldn't have imagined their speculative scheme would go viral on social media. Yet, Enzo Guerra proved himself to be a careful and diligent customer, sharing the image of the mini-scandal with his followers: having to pay €1 to refill a water bottle with tap water, in a resort where you pay €80-€100 for a lounger and umbrella.

What's even more embarrassing about this significant story of summer speculation is the justification the managers attempted to give for their decision. "This way we discourage the use of plastic," they said. Aside from the connection, which is truly difficult to trace, the fact remains that charging for thetap water To refill a water bottle is a senseless and unfounded request. Like the one now common in many bars and supermarkets in tourist resorts: charging customers for the ice needed to cool drinks and water during a picnic at sea, on a small boat, or on the beach.
