WHO GET THE TEN EUROS FOR A T-SHIRT?
Clean Clothes Company, a global network that brings together 235 trade union organizations in 45 countries around the world, dug deep, item by item, into the distribution of the proceeds of a t-shirt purchased in stores for 10 euros, and divided the pie accordingly.
- 0,06 cents per worker
- 0,09 cents other costs
- 0,40 cents to the local manufacturer
- 1,10 euros material costs for production
- 1,10 euros shipping and distribution costs
- 1,50 euros net profit (minus marketing, advertising and distribution costs) of the brand
- 5,90 euros profit for sellers
- Total 9,95 euros

HOW MUCH POLLUTION DOES A T-SHIRT MAKE?
According to a report by Global Fashion Green 2.700 liters of water are needed to produce a t-shirt, equal to the consumption of one person for three years. The water consumption for the production of a pair of jeans is much higher: 7.000 liters of water. A T-shirt cotton It emits 2,2 kilograms of CO2, while acrylic or other synthetic fabrics emit up to 5 kilograms.
