WizzAir cancels flights and does not refund tickets

A waste of money for travelers. A practice repeated in many Italian airports, especially those in Sicily. A form of blackmail against consumers.

He has been on the blacklist for a long time. Wizz Air, a low-cost airline of Hungarian origin, has now specialized in a new activity to the detriment of travellers: it leaves them stranded at the last moment, warning them when boarding has already concluded (even for those who bagagli) and not providing a proper refund. A huge waste of time and money for consumers.

WIZZ AIR GROUNDS PASSENGERS AND DOESN'T REFUND THEM

One of the latest episodes of this singular procedure occurred Friday September 9 2022 On the 5:25 PM flight from Rome Fiumicino to Catania. Passengers boarded, checked in their bags, and were ready to depart. But suddenly, an email from the airline arrived, informing them that the flight was canceled. Everyone was grounded. They waited hours to get their bags back, and there was no protection for a flight on another airline on the same route (no such protection is available for low-cost carriers). But the height of arrogance was reached by Wizz Air executives with the indecent offer of a refund. They were simply offered a voucher for another flight, again with the same airline. Otherwise, they would receive a pittance compared to the amount paid. This was pure blackmail, as the passenger didn't fly because of the airline's fault, not their own, or due to unforeseen circumstances.

WHY IS WIZZAIR CANCELING SO MANY FLIGHTS?

But why does Wizz Air continue to cancel so many flights, after doing so all summer? The answer is simple: listening to the usual business consulting scientists, low-cost airlines didn't expect such a massive recovery in traffic and therefore customer demand. They were caught off guard after laying off thousands of workers overnight, as in the case of Ryanair, Easyjet and Wizz Air itself. Once traffic resumed, the remaining workers were those cut by the coronavirus crisis, and protests and strikes erupted. Rightly so. Pilots and flight attendants cannot be forced to work grueling shifts, without even receiving overtime, because of their company's strategic errors.

Milan, Palermo, Naples, Catania, Rome: wherever Wizz Air operates in Italy, incidents like the one we've described have occurred. In Naples, Simona Ventura also fell into the airline's trap, and she too was forced to leave the cancelled flight after boarding. From here his video went viral on YouTube.
