Valentine's Day is a fake holiday. An opportunity to give a boost, under the guise of a romantic holiday, to our anemic consumerism. So, celebrate as you please. But I invite you to reflect on one thing, especially on this occasion: is it true that women are increasingly afraid of love? And why?

I ask this question after reading a series of studies scientifically demonstrating the new priority in women's hierarchy of dreams and pleasures: food before love . A snack instead of a heartbeat. With one in four women investing more resources in dieting than in their relationship with their partner.

Unfortunately, women have a thousand reasons to be afraid of letting go. There is a violence, of a masculine nature, that grows and continues to grow relentlessly. And for women, a mistake, choosing the wrong man, can prove fatal, far worse than what we've read in so many pages of great universal literature.

DISFIDENCE TOWARDS MEN

Women are increasingly wary of men . And they have more than one good reason. They continue to be discriminated against, feared, and threatened. All distinctions made and explanations sought, the fact remains that preferring a snack to the pure emotion of love or falling in love is a defeat for women . After years of struggles for power and equal rights, all conquests yet to be achieved, perhaps the time has come for women to reclaim the primacy of love. Without it, they, women, lose, and so does society, as it is a regression that distances relationships (including family), fuels narcissism , and extinguishes the desire to have children. And it undermines the most important antidote to the society of commodities, power, and money: love.

HOW TO REALLY HELP WOMEN HAVE CHILDREN:

• Twenty-five thousand women leave their jobs to have a child. And 5,5 million forgo maternity leave.
• Mother's Day? Let's celebrate it with silence. To denounce a country that fails to help and protect mothers.
• When the company acts like the state: here's the baby bonus for employees who have children.
• In Austria, it's easier to be a mother: a thousand-euro allowance and up to three years' leave.
• Family: In Germany, a 300 euro bonus for parents who spend more time with their children.
