A small project, but with an extraordinary format that encapsulates its enormous potential. A way to achieve concrete sustainability, with relative energy efficiency e waste reduction, starting from the bottom, from the citizens, and involving the institutions, first of all the municipal administration.
ENERGY COMMUNITY OF SAN LAZZARO DI SAVENA
Some families of San Lazzaro, in the province of Bologna, have created, by themselves, a energy community. With a first objective, achieved: to equip the local elementary school, the Fantini institute, with a photovoltaic systemThe structure is 20kW, and the citizens of San Lazzaro didn't ask for money or contributions from anyone. They simply taxed themselves, with individual contributions starting at 250 euros, and became owners of the system, which they then sold to the municipal administration.
PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM AT SAN LAZZARO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
At this point the second phase of the project started: the photovoltaic system, owned by the municipality, received the state contributions expected in this case. And the administration transferred these funds to the Energy Community, from where they were then distributed among the members. All the surpluses returned to the municipal coffers, and now they are thinking about how to create other systems with the same format.
