The Tuscany Region has activated a project called "Emergency Caregiver", intended for families with an elderly person (65+ years), resident in Tuscany, Located for the first time in a situation of fragility or difficulty e does not already have assistance activated by social servicesThis project implemented by the region has the objective of assist families in difficulty for the presence in the house of a non-self-sufficient elderly person, maybe sick with Alzheimer.

• Calling the single regional number (055 4383000) an authorized operator can intervene at the old man's house to assess the situation and provide information and guidance on available services.
• It is offered support to activate a family care relationship (caregivers), also accompanying the family in procedures (e.g. INPS, administrative).
• The guarantee is not directly guaranteed. caregivers free in a permanent sense, but it is provided a one-off financial contribution (e.g. €300 for a maximum of approximately 30 hours of assistance) which can help cover the initial cost of occasional work of the caregivers.

The basic requirements to access the service are:

• Elderly 65 years or older;
• Residence in Tuscany;
• First difficult situation without assistance already active;
• Being without a personalized care plan already defined by social services.
