In the name of God, one does not kill. Never (Pope Francis)

POPE FRANCIS AND RELIGIONS –

“ Religion can never kill, it cannot be done in the name of God ”: this is how Pope Francis commented on the terrorist attack on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo during the flight that took him to Manila, in the Philippines, the second stop on his trip to Asia after his visit to Sri Lanka.

THE POPE AND FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION –

" But ," Pope Bergoglio added , " you can't provoke, you can't make fun of another's religion. That's not right ." These were the words with which the Pope responded to a question from a French reporter who asked him how far freedom of expression can go.

Francis also emphasized that " freedom of expression is a right, but also a duty, " that one should not offend religion but, at the same time, one should not react with violence and that the best way to respond to violence is to be gentle, humble as bread, without committing aggression.
