Tiles, coffee tables, but also coat hangers and notepads: the products designed by Nazena, a company founded and developed in Vicenza, are numerous and are produced using a patented process that can treat various textile compositions (CO, PE, polyester-cotton, and their blends) to create rigid panels.
The Veneto-based company is thus entering the gigantic world of textile waste with a typical circular economy project , transforming a problem (excess waste) into a resource (new products). It's worth remembering that the fashion industry, especially due to fast fashion, is responsible for 10 percent of global CO2 emissions. And every year, on average, each person throws away 34 kilograms of used clothing, and 95 percent of this ends up in incinerators or landfills.
Giulia De Rossi, founder of Nazena , talks about her product catalog, which ranges from furniture and design to typical home and office items. They all have one thing in common: each item is made with at least 70 percent of polluting and widespread textile waste.
