Thus, Monsanto, the German multinational pesticide company, has stunned Europe's consumers. And glyphosate goes...

Germany's vote was crucial in saving a product labeled "probably carcinogenic" by the WHO in Brussels. A gift to Monsanto, which spares no expense—or rules—to get experts and politicians on its side.

MONSANTO

There are battles that are lost, but the important thing is not to stop trying to win the war. This is the case of the very tough clash, in Europe and throughout the world, for block once and for all the sale of glyphosate, the deadly pesticide that the World Health Organization has defined as "probably carcinogenic."

I don't want to make seventies style proclamations against the usual multinationals, but if we stick to the facts, the conclusion, for the moment, is irrefutable: Monsanto, a very powerful multinational whose source of income is primarily glyphosate, has once again managed to win a battle in this war, protecting its interests to the detriment of all of us consumers. After a long tug-of-war, in fact, the governments of the European Union, by majority, have renewed for another five years The authorization for the sale of glyphosate in Europe. From the series: who cares about the risks to citizens' health, and instead of definitive scientific certainty (evaluated by an authoritative and incorruptible source) continue to eat products grown with glyphosate and get the roundup, the most widely used herbicide in the world, produced by Monsanto, ca va sans dire, obviously.

MONSANTO GLYPHOSATE

Always sticking to the facts, separate from opinions, guess what? which was the determining country to tip the scales in favor of the sale of glyphosate? La GermanyAnd whose company does Monsanto belong to? Some Germans from BayerThis Europe of political dwarves and lobbying giants is simply horrifying and deserves all the popular discredit that surrounds the Union's institutions and ruling class. Far from populism, this is a stab in the back of the people and the peoples.

Moreover, during this never-ending war which is certainly not over with this palace maneuver, la France, clearly, has already announced that he does not care about the hypocrisies and postponements of Brussels and will prohibit the sale on its national territory within the 2019 e Italy, at least that's what Minister Maurizio Martina says, will do the same by 2020Yes, in Europe, everyone must defend health as best they can, nation by nation, while the Union serves to give free rein to their lords, the glyphosate multinationals.

MONSANTO ROUNDUP

And here, to complete the picture of facts and not of nonsense, we must go to the now gigantic literature of good investigative information, made by international newspapers such as the New York Times o Le Monde (does any of the "authoritative" Italian newspapers want to give some thought to investigative journalism on these issues?), thanks to which we know well how the Monsanto has been specialized for years inorientation even the opinion of the so-called scientific experts and of the national agencies in the sector. Everything is always and only in its favor and certainly not for free, but with generous compensation, in favor of those who help Monsanto's interests, both politically and scientifically. The methods used have been varied: from article sponsorship in favor of the use of glyphosate published in scientific journals and appearing as independent, up to the studies signed by famous researchers (or should we say “hunger”?) international, but in reality written by consultants hired by Monsanto. Passing through a myriad of pressures and infiltration in those Agencies that should protect citizens and consumers, and not individual companies. Marion Copley was a respected scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for thirty years, until his death, and as early as 2013 he had been writing fiery letters to a colleague nicknamed "the Monsanto insider" at the EPA. Recalling his consistently benevolent and positive views of glyphosate, despite considerable scientific doubt, Copley writes: "These are 14 effects of glyphosate that can trigger cancer. For once in your life, listen and don't play the game of collusion between politics and business. And for once, don't make decisions based on your profits." Clear, right? How clear are the cases in which the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) has made its own pronouncements based on opinions written in scientific journals favorable to the herbicide glyphosate, by scholars, so-called scientists, on the payroll of Monsanto, hence Bayer, hence one of the most powerful giants of German industry. And so, at least for now, glyphosate goes...
