How can you recognize a good restaurant that doesn't waste money?

The food is good quality and reasonably priced. But also the atmosphere, good service, and, above all, cleanliness.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE A GOOD RESTAURANT –

A good restaurant isn't just a place where, in general, "you eat well," but there are other factors that also need to be considered: the price of the dishes, the atmosphere, the quality of the service and, above all, hygiene.

Quality of food

When it comes to restaurant food quality, rely more on the time-honored word-of-mouth method than the usual online reviews, which aren't always reliable. You won't have any nasty surprises.
  • Freshness of ingredients: Crispy vegetables, tender meat and pleasant-smelling fish are clear signs.
  • Care in preparation: Well-presented dishes with balanced flavors indicate the chef's attention.
  • Consistent menu: A menu that is not too extensive often indicates that the restaurant focuses on quality rather than quantity.

Service

As always, the difference is made by the people: efficient, even friendly, service can even make up for some weaknesses in the menu.
  • Courtesy and competence: trained waiters who know the menu and suggest pairings.
  • Timing: dishes served in reasonable times without rushing but without long waits.
  • Ability to handle special requests: for example, allergies or changes to the dish without problems.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere also plays a role: we don't go to a restaurant just to eat, but also to enjoy a small experience. And its quality depends precisely on the atmosphere in the place we choose.
  • Furnishings and lighting consistent with the style of the restaurant.
  • Controlled noise and seating comfort.
  • Details like tablecloths, napkins, and music contribute to a pleasant experience.

Price and quality

Quality food should be the rule, not the expensive exception. Otherwise, it's better to eat at home.
  • A good restaurant offers balance: the price reflects the quality of the ingredients, the preparation, and the service.
  • Prices that are too low may indicate a compromise in quality.
  • Too high prices stink of waste and speculation

Cleaning and hygiene

Be wary of those places that claim to be "home-made trattoria" and then end up in a dirty and unpleasant place.
Rather:
  • Check the cleanliness of tables, dishes, cutlery and bathrooms.
  • A visible kitchen is a plus: if it is tidy and clean, the hygiene quality is usually high.
