Method
Very simple: pour a cup of vinegar (or citric acid) and baking soda into the clogged drain, then add boiling water to complete the process and remove any residue. A sink plunger can be invaluable for permanently unclogging the sink and making it functional again.
Salt and baking soda
Another very effective and simple combination for unclogging the sink involves the use of salt and baking soda.
Necessary
- 150 g of fine salt
- 150 g of baking soda
- Boiling water
Method
- Combine together in an old container the 150 grams of salt and bicarbonate of sodium.
- Mix well to combine the two ingredients and then pour everything into the clogged drain.

- To keep the drain always clean, repeat the operation at least once a month.
Sodas
As we mentioned, carbonated drinks, while certainly not "natural," are very useful for unclogging sinks. Especially kitchen sinks, which easily become clogged with food residue. The process is simple:
- In a bottle, put a cup of coarse salt and a cup of baking soda.
- Mix well, shake, and add three glasses of the soda. The resulting mixture should form a single mass.
- Insert it into the filling and let it act for at least five minutes.
- Then rinse everything with hot water and you will see that the sink should be clear again.
