Gardens, terraces, and green spaces outside our homes. All places that can be useful for a party, a reception, a birthday party, or a wedding. Why waste this opportunity? Various online platforms allow you, with extreme ease and a simple click, to access a network of demand and supply for outdoor space locations. Andrea Filippini, Matteo Manservisi, and Daniele Parazza, three computer science students in their twenties from Bologna, are the founders of RentGarden, a web portal where the needs of who has a green space, a garden, which he does not use, and who needs it instead perhaps for a party or reception. The underlying mechanism, once again, is that of the sharing economy: using the lever of sharing to generate income from an owned but rarely used asset. And it's the same principle that has made the Airbnb platform so successful, both for homes and around the world.
The project was conceived from the need to exploit every little green space, whether neglected or unused due to the high maintenance costs, and transform it into a location suitable for celebrating and spending time with friends. Or even in a film set and fiction. Thanks to the website AffittoGiardino.it it is possible to find the nearest garden to spend a day in the greenery in the heart of nature. privacy and, at the same time, turn the spaces they own into a business. "We are a bridge between those who have a green space but don't use it, and those who need it for a specific event and for a limited time and want to save money while still having a unique location," explains Andrea Filippini.
Anyone who has a green space can become host On AffittoGiardino: simply create your profile, specify the location's features, and create a set of rules that will be included in the contract between host and guest. Once the booking is complete, the host will pay AffittoGiardino a percentage to continue using the service. The three young people left from their hometown, Bologna, where villas, woods, hills, and gardens exist, even in the city center. The scope of action is expected to expand, thanks to partnerships with some large event organizers and the fact that some hosts have already earned thousands of euros by hosting various types of parties, something that would have been impossible before AffittoGiardino, as green spaces were only seen as a cost in terms of time and maintenance, and not as a real asset. economic opportunity.
