HOW TO AVOID RISKS WHEN LEAVING YOUR HOME

And here are our 10 tips for not wasting the pleasure and usefulness of normal life in times of coronavirus.

Masks . Don't be paranoid and wasteful, but maintain a healthy sense of discipline regarding the rules. Masks are mandatory indoors and outdoors when we're not sure we can maintain a safe distance. Period. There are also some regions, and check if yours is one of them, that require masks to be worn outdoors at all times.

Safe distance . Based on arithmetic averages, experts recommend 1,85 meters. In reality, maintaining a distance of one meter is enough in any public place to avoid any risk of infection. The virus is transmitted through the upper respiratory tract, via droplets released by infected individuals. These include saliva, coughs, sneezes, tears, and shaking unwashed hands.

No kissing or hugging . They're strictly forbidden. And don't be funny. The same goes for the habit of a normal handshake. For now, it's on hold.

Bottles and glasses . Avoid any form of promiscuity, even with family members, when using glasses, plates, and bottles.

Sneezing and coughing . When you're out and about and have to sneeze or cough, do so at a safe distance from other people. Use a tissue or the crook of your elbow. And wash your hands after touching the tissue.

How to wash your hands . For twenty seconds, with soap and water, interlacing your fingers, rubbing palms together thoroughly. When? After coughing and sneezing, before and after eating, after using the bathroom. And whenever you feel the possibility of dirty hands. To understand the importance of clean hands, keep two factors in mind. First: 60 percent of infections occur through the hands. Second: in a single day, we touch our faces, without even realizing it, thousands of times. With our hands. So, it's best for them to be very clean.

If you go out with your dog . The current climate of emergency doesn't give you the right to disregard the normal routine of picking up your dog's poop. Instead, avoid frequent rubbing on outdoor surfaces.

Surfaces . Keep in mind, for example, when you're sipping a coffee at your bar, that the virus rarely spreads through surfaces. In any case, the coronavirus disappears in less than a minute when the surface is disinfected with ethyl alcohol. A simple precaution on the part of the owner of the establishment you frequent eliminates the risk to customers.

When to avoid going out . If you have even the slightest symptoms of the common flu, avoid going out. At least until you've fully understood its progression and consulted your primary care physician.

Returning home . Once you've left the house, it's a good idea to wash your hands immediately, remove your shoes at the door, and leave any bags, envelopes, and items you brought from outside at the door. Don't touch your face until you've washed your hands, and occasionally clean your glasses and cell phone with soap and water (or rubbing alcohol).
