A cat park? It exists, and it's located in Monza. CatlandFounded in 2007 by the love of four volunteers who form its heart and backbone, it is a place where everything is designed to promote the well-being of its guests, where volunteers care for cats that are abandoned, exploited, or come from illegal shelters. Legally registered as a non-profit organization, it is a true center where these little four-legged friends are fed, cuddled, and placed on the path to adoption. With a specific philosophy: cats don't have owners, but lifelong companions; there are no cramped cages or dreary shelters. A place where affection and warmth are offered to countless cats who have suffered the trauma of abandonment or abuse, receiving in return a little nod, a purr, or a tender look. Thanks to the support of the volunteers, the center's cats, some of whom are elderly or have specific illnesses, are monitored and cared for, and they are also provided with all the support they need to regain their trust in humans. Unfortunately, the residents of the cat park sometimes have histories of mistreatment or abuse, or more simply have become accustomed to a wild life on the streets, thus being very wary of the dangers that come from humans and honing their innate feline distrust.
At Gattolandia, essential services for the well-being of cats are guaranteed: a veterinarian, warm and clean spaces, and regular, complete meals. The reintegration process and preparation for adoption and foster care generally lasts a month, but obviously everything varies depending on the cat's condition upon arrival at the shelter. It's not just about physical adoptions: anyone unable to keep a kitten or cat at home can donate a small monthly fee to distance adoptions, which financially supports the cat park and all its activities. A true paradise for abandoned cats, built with the overwhelming support of volunteers and sponsors. Through the project's Facebook page, you can learn about the cats' stories, view their photos, and connect with the volunteers should you decide to adopt one. Before buying a cat, think twice and knock on the door of the Gattolandia shelter: there are many cats just waiting for your love and a little of your time.
