DIET MISTAKES NOT TO MAKE
Not all diets are created equal, of course. And many diets have underlying flaws that make them wrong and impossible from the moment we begin. To understand if we're embarking on the wrong path, there's a foolproof method: check if the diet contains one of these 10 mistakes.

NOT TOO SEVERE DIET
Don't believe in miracles when it comes to diets: when they promise you'll lose a lot of weight quickly, there's definitely something wrong. Generally speaking, an overly restrictive diet has three fundamental drawbacks. First, by minimizing carbohydrates, you risk feeling tired and listless. Second, you risk depression, and mood is an essential component of psychophysical balance. Better to have a few extra pounds on your belly, but no obsessions in your head. Third, at the end of an overly restrictive diet, there's a good chance you'll quickly regain the weight you worked so hard to lose.
ACHIEVABLE GOALS
Weight Watchers has calculated that a credible diet can't predict weight loss of more than 1 kg per week. So, if they promise you a weight loss of, say, 15 kg in a month, something isn't right. And the goal isn't achievable.
REDUCING FOOD IS NOT ENOUGH
Without combining your new diet with even a modicum of physical activity, any diet risks being ineffective over time. Often, your diet is healthy and balanced, but your lifestyle is completely sedentary . You may feel like making sacrifices, but your weight won't change significantly.
MEDITERRANEAN DIET
There's no scientific research that doesn't confirm one certainty: the Mediterranean diet is the best overall. Even for weight loss. Therefore, a diet menu that doesn't take this principle into account is inherently unreliable.
DRINK A LOT
A diet that doesn't include regular water consumption, according to our body's needs, makes no sense. And we need significant amounts of water: 1,5 to 2 liters a day. Consider that fruit also contains water. Giving up water, for example, leads to constipation , which leads to weight gain, not weight loss.
BALANCED MEALS
Be wary of any diet that requires you to skip meals: on the contrary, if properly planned, the diet never leaves your stomach empty and leaves you feeling sufficiently satisfied. Skipping breakfast, for example, leads to a subsequent purchase of junk food in 30 percent of cases. Snacks are also possible during the diet, provided you choose the healthiest and most effective ones. For example, a cup of blueberries has only 85 calories, an apple 70 calories, and a square of chocolate 45 calories. Why give them up?
LIGHT DINNER
This is another classic mistake made by diets that don't work. You suffer during the day and then you let go in the evening. This means you sleep poorly and don't help your metabolism. Therefore, you don't lose weight. It's much better, however, when dieting, to have dinner no later than 8 p.m.
SLEEP IS NECESSARY
A popular myth holds that while dieting, you shouldn't sleep too much, otherwise you'll gain weight. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sleep regulates metabolism, while insomnia disrupts it. And the reason is scientific: sleep deprivation lowers leptin production, which reduces appetite.
EATING HABITS
A diet is reliable if it suggests a type of nutrition , including the right amounts, that we can then consistently use throughout our lives. Don't trust diets that completely overturn good eating habits.
WALK
As with physical activity in general, it's a good idea to increase the amount of time you spend walking daily while dieting . Walking is a panacea and should be combined with any weight-loss diet. How much? The ideal amount is half an hour a day.
