Scented water has many uses: it gently refreshes the body, the air in your home (avoiding the waste of industrial sprays), linens, and pillows. There are many alternatives, and the most suitable flowers are definitely roses, jasmine, and sandalwood. But coconut and aloe vera also work very well.

Roses

Homemade rose scented water is delicate, romantic and super natural.
Ingredients
- Petals of untreated roses (better if very fragrant)
- Distilled water (as much as needed)
- A small saucepan
- A colander
- A spray bottle (glass is better)
Method
- Collect the petals and wash them gently.
- Put them in the saucepan in a single layer.
- Just cover them with distilled water.
- Bring to very low heat (do not boil strongly!).
- Cover and let it heat for 20–30 minutes until the petals are lightly browned.
- Turn off and let cool.
- Filter and pour into the bottle.
Rose scented water will keep in the refrigerator for 5–7 days, but if you add alcohol, it can last even a few weeks.
The sandal

Sandalwood also has a fragrance suitable for perfuming the body and the rooms where we store our clothes.
Ingredients
- 300 drops of sandalwood essential oil
- 100 ml of water
Method
- The two ingredients must be combined and well emulsified.
- Place the resulting perfume in a hermetically sealed glass container.
- Always keep in the refrigerator.
The jasmine

Jasmine has a naturally intoxicating and delicate scent. Jasmine water is very easy to make and is ideal for scenting clothes.
Ingredients
- 1 fistful of dried jasmine
- 100 ml of water
Method
- The flowers must be left to infuse for at least three days, completely covered with water and in a sealed glass container.
- The jar should be shaken several times every day to spread the scent.
- Strain the liquid and store in the refrigerator.
Lavender

Lavender is relaxing, fresh and clean: ideal for perfuming linens, pillows and rooms, especially in the evening.
Ingredients
- 1 handful of dried lavender flowers
- 150 ml of distilled water
- 1 teaspoon food-grade alcohol (optional)
- Spray bottle
Method
- Place the lavender flowers in a glass jar.
- Cover them with distilled water.
- Leave to infuse for 48 hours, away from light.
- Filter the liquid.
- Add alcohol if you prefer a longer shelf life.
- Pour into spray bottle and shake before use.
The orange blossoms

Orange blossoms have a delicate, enveloping scent, perfect for the body and for perfuming curtains and wardrobes.
Ingredients
- 1 handful of fresh or dried orange blossoms
- 150 ml of distilled water
- Spray bottle
Method
- Wash the flowers gently if they are fresh.
- Place them in a glass container and cover them with water.
- Leave to macerate for 2–3 days.
- Shake once a day.
- Filter and transfer into a spray bottle.
- Store in the refrigerator.
The coconut

Coconut has a very pleasant fragrance.
Ingredients
- 100 ml of distilled water
- 10–15 drops of coconut cosmetic essence or fragrance
- food alcohol or vodka
- Spray bottle
Method
- Mix the alcohol with the coconut essence.
- Add the water.
- Shake well before use..
The scent is sweet, intense and has a spring-like flavour.
The aloe vera

Aloe vera scented water is fresh and soothing, perfect for the body and can also be used for rooms.
Ingredients
- 100 ml of distilled water
- 2 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel (preferably 99%)
- Spray bottle
- 1 teaspoon food-grade alcohol (optional)
Method
- Pour the water into a bowl.
- Add the aloe gel.
- Mix well until you obtain a smooth mixture.
- If you want greater preservation, add the alcohol.
- Pour into spray bottle.
