DIY Beach Bags: 10 Ideas

Beach bags are often an unnecessary expense: we already have plenty of them, and many can be used for trips to the beach or on a boat. On the other hand, if you're looking for original designs, you can have fun with upcycling and make beach bags from fabric scraps, jeans, raffia bags, and even plastic bottle caps.

Starting from jute (whether from a sack or another object) you can make a beach bag that never goes out of style.

Cut two jute rectangles of the same size
Cut two more, of the same height but smaller width, for the sides
Sew them together leaving the top side open
Fold and sew the top hem to finish it off.

To make the bag prettier, you can sew a strip of fabric to the hem to create a wavy effect. Finish with the handles, and you're done.

Cut the legs and open them
Sew two rectangular pieces together to form the base and sides.
For the handles, sew strips of reinforced fabric
