How to Make a Carnival Mask for Kids

Here's what you'll need to make this curious DIY animal face: an idea we found on the Baby Jungle blog that shows us how it's possible to create a delightful, beautiful, and original mask using recycled materials and imagination.

Necessary

  • A cardboard egg box
  • Colors
  • An elastic band
  • A knitting needle or alternatively a skewer stick
  • Paper from the fairly thick format
  • Scissors, brushes and glue

Method

  • Cut the shallow parts of the egg carton to create the nose of the dog, cat, or pig, and use the pointed parts to create the noses of animals with long faces: for example, the mouse, the fox, the crocodile, and so on.
  • Using a knitting needle, make some holes on the carved part of the box and then color the cut-out DIY face.
  • Let everything dry for about an hour and then draw the nose, mouth and teeth of the chosen animal.
  • Also cut out the whiskers using some fairly thick paper and glue them to the muzzle
  • At this point all you have to do is insert the elastic band into the DIY nose and tie it with a knot.
