Bags, wallets, belts: all made from 100% vegetable-tanned leather. Obtained from grape and corn waste. The Tuscan company Bulganeri now has a catalog of green products , inspired by recycling, waste reduction, and the circular economy . The two most commonly used raw materials are pomace residue, essentially the pulp left over from pressing grapes to make wine; and the starches and sugars from leftover corn, from which biopolyol is obtained. Production is located in Scandicci, Tuscany, and Bulganeri's CEO, Lorenzo Bulgarini, has discovered two important qualities of vegetable-tanned leather obtained from grape and corn waste. First: it is highly durable and suitable for a variety of applications in the accessories sector. Second: it doesn't cost more than regular leather. But, on the other hand, it doesn't pollute and helps keep the environment clean.
